HRStar Certificate Program

Effective:  May 1, 2007

Every department uses the Human Resources System (HRS) software.  Departments need input and access data on their employees for a variety of reasons.  It is important that at least one person in every department know how to access and understand all functions of HRS.  The HRStar Performer program is designed to provide that training.

The HRStar program consists of three sessions that are each three hours in length and one two-hour session.  The first session, entitled HRS System, is a prerequisite for all other sessions and is offered six times per year.  Participants can easily complete the program within one year and, with a little planning, the entire program could be completed in six months.

Eligibility Requirements:

• All continuous, regular staff positions within DASNR are eligibleif the position requires HRS access. 
• Employee must maintain “merit” or equivalent level performance.

• HRStar Program

Courses leading to certification may be paid for by the department as part of the employee’s training plan.  The appropriate unit head or his/her designee must approve training plans prior to scheduled courses to ensure adequate staffing and budgetary considerations.

Pay Incentive:

• $75 one-time payment (net) currently $121.55 (gross)
• Increase will be given within 30 days of program completion verification.
• Increase will be given to any person in an eligible position who completes the program after May 1, 2007.
• Multiple completions of the HRStar Performer Certificate Program will not result in additional one-time payments.
• All program requirements must be fulfilled before a payment can be granted.
• Payments are subject to appropriate taxes and withholdings.
