Leadership Development Certificate Program

Effective:  July 1, 2010

 
The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is an innovative program designed to enhance the supervisory skills of managers, supervisors, administrative personnel, and those aspiring to be supervisors at OSU.


The LDP program consists of two elements:  30 hours of required courses and 20 hours of specially marked electives.  By completing 50 hours of courses within a three-year period, the employee qualifies for an LDP certificate. Eligibility Requirements:

  • All continuous, regular staff positions within DASNR are eligible. 
  • Employee must maintain “good/competent” or equivalent level performance. 

Approved Certification:

  • OSU Leadership Development

Courses leading to certification may be paid for by the department as part of the employee’s training plan.  The appropriate unit head or his/her designee must approve training plans prior to scheduled courses to ensure adequate staffing and budgetary considerations.


Pay Incentive:

  • $250 one-time payment (net).
  • Increase will be given within 30 days of program completion verification through OSU Training Services.
  • Multiple completions of the Leadership Development Program will not result in additional one-time payments.
  • All program requirements must be fulfilled before a payment can be granted.
  • Payments are subject to appropriate taxes and withholdings, and FLSA guidelines.
