Fiscally Fit Program

Effective:  July 1, 2010

It is important that at least one person in every department have the ability to manage fiscal functions for their Unit. The General Workout For Fiscally Fit Program is designed to help both experienced and entry level office staff increase their contribution to their Unit.

The General Workout For Fiscally Fit Program consists of  30 hours of training to be completed within a two year time frame. Employees may pick and choose from the topics offered to complete the 30 hours of training. Click here for a description of the courses.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • All continuous, regular nonexempt staff within DASNR are eligible.
  • Employee must maintain “good/competent” or equivalent level performance. 

Approved Certification:

  • OSU General Workout For Fiscally Fit Program

Courses leading to certification may be paid for by the department as part of the employee’s training plan.  The appropriate unit head or his/her designee must approve training plans prior to scheduled courses to ensure adequate staffing and budgetary considerations. 

Pay Incentive:

  • $100 one-time payment (net)
  • Increase will be given within 30 days of program completion verification through OSU Training Services.
  • Multiple completions of the Fiscally Fit Program will not result in additional one-time payments.
  • All program requirements must be fulfilled before a payment can be granted.
  • Payments are subject to appropriate taxes and withholdings, and FLSA guidelines.
